La Piñata S.A.A.M. 2024

Where: Murphy Park, 501 S Pleasant St, Springdale, AR

“La Piñata SAAM” (Sexual Assault Awareness Month) This family-friendly event involves the Spanish-speaking community, bringing to life our organizational mission of serving all members of the community. Culturally the piñata originated as a representation of the evils which consume our everyday world. Children were encouraged to break the piñatas as a way to bring fortune into the community for the new season. With the cultural significance of piñatas, NWACSA bring this event annually to the Spanish speaking community as a method to break down the negative stigma of sexual violence. 

There will be food, music, piñatas, prizes, games, and community resources, all at no cost to the public.

Este evento familiar involucra a la comunidad de habla hispana, hace realidad nuestra misión de organización de servir a todos los miembros de la comunidad. Culturalmente la piñata se originó como una representación de los males que consumen nuestro mundo cotidiano. Se animó a los niños a romper las piñatas como una forma de traer fortuna a la comunidad para la nueva temporada. Con el significado cultural de las piñatas, NWACSA trae este evento anualmente a la comunidad de habla hispana como un método para romper el estigma negativo de la violencia sexual.

Habrá comida, música, piñatas, premios, juegos, y recursos comunitarios, todo sera gratis para el público.
