Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse
  • Licensed to work in the state of Arkansas
  • CPR certified
  • Willing to receive additional training to become a SANE

Becoming a SANE requires taking didactic course work, as well as completing an in-person preceptorship. Nurses working for NWA Forensic Nurse Team will be required to be trained for pediatric, adolescent, and adult populations. This can be done by taking two separate 40-hour courses:  Pediatric/Adolescent SANE and Adult/Adolescent SANE, or by taking a 64+ hour combined Pediatric/Adolescent/Adult SANE course. The didactic courses will then be followed by a preceptorship which is provided by the NWA Forensic Nurse Team before a nurse can practice on their own.
