About Kinke Kwojjab Make Iam (KKMI)

We provide a safe, confidential refuge for the Marshallese-speaking community in addressing sexual assault and harassment through support, understanding, and resources.

Anemkwoj Jen Kakkure (AJK)

AJK has been created to start the conversation about sexual assault and sexual harassment in the Marshallese community, where there is no such terminology for sexual assault, instead using a description of the word. Speaking about sexual assault is taboo in the Marshallese culture, allowing the perpetrator to walk away without being held accountable, and victims and survivors feeling too ashamed to come forward, fearing judgment and retaliation.

AJK is a family-friendly event that primarily focuses on the Marshallese community through education and awareness, and by ensuring our commitment to provide equal access to services for all members of the NWA community.

KKMI has hosted this event every year for the Marshallese community as a way to liberate the stigma of rape culture and enact change.
