Part-Time Bilingual (Spanish/English) Counselor

The Part-time Bilingual Counselor is responsible for providing counseling services—both individual and group—for 20 hours per week in both English and Spanish to victims/clients who seek assistance from the NWA Rape Crisis Center—d/b/a NWA Center for Sexual Assault (Center), in accordance with Center policies and best-practices. Schedule may be flexible with pre-approval of the Executive Director.


Commitment and belief in Victim Advocacy, Social Justice and the mission of NWARCC.

A team-player who understands that best-practices client service and organizational administration are vital.

Master’s Degree (and all necessary licensure status) in Counseling or Social Work required.

Ability to speak in public and communicate well in writing in both English and Spanish.

A proven positive client-therapist rapport a necessity.

Competency and experience with computer software related to word processing, data-bases, and desktop publishing (including, Microsoft PPT, Word, Excel, and basic Statistical packages).


Provide direct individual and group counseling services to Center clients as needed to assure clients are seen in a timely and consistent manner.

Collaborate with Counseling Services Coordinator, and Counseling and/or MSW interns to assure continuity of client care.

Stay current on new research and information regarding best-practice therapy with trauma victims.


Maintain client appointment schedules and inform staff of those schedules.

Act as a mentor and resource to Counseling and/or MSW Interns as needed.

In coordination with Counseling Services Coordinator, work to grow the number of therapeutic support groups offered by our agency, with specific emphasis on support group opportunities partnering with other agencies. Outreach efforts regarding our support group and individual therapy services are part of this position.


Oversee the collection and preparation of monthly client statistics for Grant and Research Reporting.

Be an active, best-practices role model and support to Advocacy staff and interns.

Be a self-starter and take initiative to grow and expand upon the organization’s mission-driven work as it fulfills its Strategic Plan.

Provide all aspects of friendly, accommodating and professional service to all clients and partner agencies.

Work with fellow staff to maintain a clean, well-organized work environment.

Abide by Center policies set forth by the Board of Director and by the Executive Director.

Attend weekly staff meetings and staffings.

Participate in quarterly informal evaluations and annual formal evaluations.

Report all issues, concerns, questions, et cetera to Executive Director.

Complete regular training courses and all additional duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
